Sandy

Sandy was found as a starving pup in the Saudi Arabia dessert. We took her to stay in our compound in Riyadh, then a few years later, onto the greener pastures of NJ and PA.
She was a playful and vocal companion who loved to play chasies with her cat-siblings (all rescued from Saudi). Being a stray Canaan dog mix, she came with behavioral challenges stemming from anxiety. We worked so hard over the years to help alleviate much of her emotional distress. Finally, she was a much happier dog, until some health challenges caused a tragic regression that we just couldn’t recover from.
Over the last year, her cognitive decline was heart-wrenching to witness. We could see the anguish it was causing her, so we called Dr. Santore to help Sandy to finally be at peace. Sandy went so peacefully, and it seemed like her aching body and mind were ready for the rest. Dr. Santore was such a compassionate and calming presence.
We are heartbroken at the loss of Sandy. We will never forget such a special, unique dog. Until we meet again, Bo-bo/Boonies/Boonhi…. my Sweet Girl.
