Spooky

10-05-2025
We recently lost our tiniest little cat Spooky to cancer. Spooky was anything but…she was a timid little thing, scared of everything and everyone (unless she knew you, in which case, she was attached to you 24-7), and often hid until she felt comfortable coming out again. She was always a little wheezy, earning her some extra attention throughout her 10 years with us. She was our resident “toy czar”, not willing to share her playthings, but was usually pushed from the food bowl by her much bigger (and hungrier) sister. She could catch bugs like no one else, and could often be found curled up next to her mother during an afternoon nap.
Although we knew the day would come soon once we heard the prognosis, we were lucky to spend our remaining time with her as best we could…playing, snuggling, and just enjoying having her around us. I feel lucky that I got to thank her for being in our life, and had the chance to say goodbye, though I still wish I had a few more games of Stick-N-Blanket to play with her, or one more beard massage, or another chance to be pawed at when eating dinner…
Spooky, we will miss you forever – you’re now a tiny little star up in the northeastern sky.
